I discovered menstrual cycle awareness by accident
I picked up a copy of Wild Power by Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer not really knowing what I was looking for. What I found changed everything. For the first time, the patterns I had noticed in myself — the shifting energy, the waves of emotion, the days I felt unstoppable and the days I could barely function — had a framework. They weren't problems to fix. They were information.
I've been an integrative counsellor for over twelve years. And I can honestly say that learning to understand my cycle has been one of the most transformative things I've brought to my work — both in the room with clients, and in how I sustain myself in this profession.
